I heard about the baby calming techniques from a HypnoBirthing colleague in Ayrshire, when I rang her for some support when my second baby has started crying and fussing in the evenings - my health visitor told me it was colic, but I wasn’t convinced!  She explained to me that this was a bit of an ‘old wives tale’ and that, in fact, there was something I could do about it!  She had used the techniques with her own baby and the results were amazing.
 

At this point I was getting desperate so gave it a go - I tried out the techniques and was amazed at how quickly they worked – my daughter was like putty in my hands and, literally, went from screaming to calm in about 10 seconds!  I was so relieved that I finally had found something that worked!  The next time I tried the calming techniques, it was at my husband cousin’s house – she had just had twins and was struggling to settle her 7 week old son.  She was at her wit’s end and everyone said he had terrible colic and it would pass. I asked if she minded if I tried something – I did the techniques with him and he completely calmed down and fell asleep in about 30 seconds flat!  She was so delighted and couldn’t wait to show her husband.

It was this experience that convinced me to go on and train as a Certified Happiest Baby Instructor because I believe that no new parent should experience the stress of a constantly crying or unsettled baby.

I am a part-time nurse, clinical hypnotherapist and Childbirth Educator teaching Contented Baby Classes & HypnoBirthing Classes throughout the Glasgow area.  I am also a mum of two wonderful daughters and my second baby was born using the HypnoBirthing techniques.  I live with my husband and children in the outskirts of Glasgow.
